Celtic New Jersey Youth Soccer State Cup Champions!!!

Congratulations to the U16 Celtic Girl's NJYS State Cup Champions

Freehold Soccer League's U16 Celtic girl's team defeated Toms River Everton today 3-0 to capture the 2016 New Jersey Youth Soccer State Cup Championship title.  This is the first time the Celtic have beaten Everton who they play at least twice a year in regular season play and who've been in 3 of the last 4 US Club and NJYS State Finals.

When asked about today's game, Assistant Coach Scott Noseworthy said with excitement, "This was another tremendous defensive showing with a stellar outing by our goalie, Jamie Skarupsky who managed to stop 3 one-on-one breakaway attempts.  Another total team effort with the Celtic scoring 5 goals in the last two days without giving up any!!"

On the offensive side of the ball the team's goals were spread throughout the game with Jasmine Colbert scoring the first goal, followed by sister Jada Colbert to make it 2-0.  Laura Noseworthy put the nail in the coffin, taking the wind out of Everton's sails to make it 3-0.

Next stop on the Celtic's championship tour will be to compete in the Mid Atlantic Region 1 Tournament which will be held in Barboursville, West Virginia from June 30th - July 5th.  The winner of that tournament will be headed to Frisco, Texas to play the other regional champions.
