Freehold Soccer League's recreation soccer program has be named the 2017 Recreation Soccer Program of the Year by New Jersey Youth Soccer and the league will be honored at the annual NJYS awards dinner on Friday, February 2, 2018.
"This is a great award for not only the club but Freehold Township overall. The FSL Board realized how important recreation soccer was for the club and community and invested in building a better program for the kids. FSL also had the full support of the township which was evident based on the letter of recommendation provided by our Mayor, Lester Preston and submitted along with our application", said Dave Moore, outgoing Recreation Commissioner.
During Dave Moore's tenure as Recreation Commissioner, FSL has invested in paid professional training and a playoff system for both the Fall and Spring seasons to help promote the program and excite the children and their families. It has also worked annually with the Kohl's Cup, Red Bulls and New Jersey Youth Soccer to bring in additional external training programs to highlight the importance of recreation soccer and to benefit the children.
"Dave has helped build a great recreation soccer program and it's awesome recognition for the town and club" stated incoming Recreation Commissioner Paul Pennisi.
FSL competed against other recreation programs from throughout the state to win this prestigous award.
