Fall 2020 Recreation Referee Schedule

Letter to FSL Parents

Parents,

As we prepare to start our 2020 Fall Recreation Soccer season this Saturday, Sept 12, at the Jackson Mills soccer fields, there is some information we need to share as it relates to changes to the season.

In order for the Freehold Soccer League to operate at all this season, for both Travel and Recreation Soccer, we needed to develop a COVID protocol plan and submit it to the township governing body for approval.  That approval was received and we have successfully implemented the procedures for our travel season during the last few weeks.  It is important that we adhere to the guidelines set forth in the protocols to ensure our that Recreation season will be able to continue throughout the fall.

Here are the highlights that you need to know.

  • All parents, players must wear masks to and from the fields
  • All parents must adhere to social distancing rules while at the soccer fields, wearing masks when social distancing is not possible.
  • All participants (coaches, players, trainers) must proceed to 1 of the 2 check in tables (check in tables map) located on the fields to have temperature taken and receive sticker on their logo showing they have been screened.  Referees and coaches will not allow participation without the sticker.
  • All coaches and trainers are required to keep masks on for the duration of the soccer games.
  • Players are asked to spread their water and equipment out on the sideline away from other players
  • No team snacks will be allowed this season.
  • All players and parents will be required to read, sign and submit the COVID Protocol Waiver when checking in.  Click on this link to get the COVID Protocol Waiver on our website.  Please print the signature page (page #4) and bring it with you to the check in table for week 1.

Steps we have taken:

  • We have added time in between games - from 15 minutes to 30 minutes
  • We have staggered the start times for games to allow for less traffic in and out.
  • We have moved the micro field games (Pre-K, K) to the larger short sided fields nearest the road on the snack stand side.  Click on the map link to see the field map on our website.
  • For competitive divisions (2/3 and above), we are having teams and parents sit on the same side of the field - parents on one half and coaches/players on the other half.
  • For Pre-K, K and First (fields JM5 A/B, JM6 A/B, JM1 A/B/C) we are having parents sit around the outside of the field, off the playing surfaces of fields JM1, JM5 and JM6. See online field map if you are not sure where the fields are.
  • At this time we are advising coaches not to hold practices outside of Saturday games due to COVID restrictions.

We appreciate your cooperation as we have put in significant effort to adapt to the guidelines and requirements in order to get all our children back on the soccer fields and having fun.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing everyone on the fields this weekend.
